Free money and debt advice from the WFCCU and CAB
The WFCCU and the Citizen’s Advice Bureau have launched a free money and debt advice service for Waltham Forest.
The service will help people to manage their finances as effectively as possible, whether they’re struggling to make ends meet, facing spiralling debt, or just want to make their money work harder.
They’ll be shown how to prioritise their debts, negotiate affordable repayments on rent arrears or credit card debts, and learn about low-cost alternatives to high street credit. And they’ll be guided through the maze of benefits and grants to identify exactly what help is available.
The service is on offer to everyone, whatever their circumstances, from those facing financial hardship, to people looking for an ethical alternative to high street banks.
According to Claire Walters, Chief Executive of the WFCCU: “We are seeing an explosion in unscrupulous lenders on the high street charging extortionate rates of interest and exploiting people on low incomes. We offer a genuinely ethical alternative that gives people access to free, independent financial advice, affordable loan finance, and the tools to start planning for the future.”
To find out more, come in and see us at 4 Church Hill, Walthamstow, London E17 3AG or call us on 020 8520 8740.
